New Honda CRV to hit Indian roads in CY 2006

New Delhi, September 28, 2006: Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today unveiled the all-new, third-generation Honda CR-V at the Paris Motor Show 2006. The new vehicle was showcased to media, from around the globe, including India, at Paris.

The new and completely re-designed Honda CR-V is scheduled to be launched in India within the current calendar year, soon after its debut in US and Japan. With its distinct exterior styling, unparalleled luxurious interiors and several new advanced features, it promises to redefine the way SUVs are perceived in India.

The exterior styling of the new CR-V goes beyond evolution and results in more style in a smart and sophisticated package. The unit body construction with wide tread layout provides stability and driving experience & comfort of a sedan. The new CR-V also features Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure and other advanced equipment for superior safety performance.

Talking about the forthcoming launch, Mr. M Takedagawa - President & CEO, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd., said, “The fact that new CR-V will be launched in few months after the US and Japan launches, shows the importance of Indian market for Honda. Honda CR-V was introduced in India in the year 2003, in its second-generation version, and soon occupied the position of the segment leader. In 2004, Honda Siel Cars brought to India the latest version of the second-generation CR-V, available internationally at that time.
