HSCI President & CEO Mr. M. Takedagawa to head Honda Operations in South West Asia

Will Continue as Head of HSCI

New Delhi, Feb 20: The President and CEO of Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI), Mr. Masahiro Takedagawa, is scheduled to take charge as Operating Officer, Honda Motor Company Limited, Japan.

Mr. Takedagawa will continue in his current position as HSCI President and CEO, but effective April 1, 2006, his regional role will expand to cover overall responsibility of Honda’s automobile, motorcycle and power product businesses in South West Asia, comprising India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.

Mr. Takedagawa, who took charge as head of HSCI in April 2005, has been associated with Honda Motor Company, Japan, for the past 27 years. He has rich experience in handling operations in US, Japan, Thailand and Italy.

Apart from Mr. Takedagawa’s appointment, Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd, Honda’s Bangkok-based Asia & Oceania regional headquarters today made several other organizational changes in the company.

Mr. Satoshi Toshida, currently Senior Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Asia-Oceania region, Honda Motor Co., Ltd and President & Chief Executive Officer of Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd will become Chief Operating Officer, Honda Power Products operations. With this new assignment, he will be responsible for the global power products’ operations of Honda Motor Co., Ltd.

Power Products is one of Honda’s 3 core businesses, along with automobiles and motorcycles. It is one of the fastest growing businesses and includes solar panel development as well as multi-purpose engines used to power everything from lawn mowers to speed boats. In addition, Mr. Toshida will oversee the continuing development of the Honda jet.

Mr. Tatsuhiro Oyama, 55, currently Director and Chief Operating Officer of Parts operations, will succeed Mr. Toshida as President & Chief Executive Officer, Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd effective from April.1, 2006.

Mr. Motohide Sudo, 51, currently Executive Vice President (EVP) of Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and President of A.P. Honda Co., Ltd. will continue his position as EVP of Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd. but his regional headquarters’ role will expand to cover overall responsibility for motorcycle and automobile products in the Asia-Oceania region as well as responsibility for ASEAN and East Asia-Oceania business operations.

Mr. Nobunari Matsushita, 61, currently Executive General Manager of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. responsible for overall production management in Asia-Oceania will retire from Honda Motor Co., Ltd at the end of March. Mr. Kazuaki Takuno, 54, who is currently General Manager of Kumamoto factory will succeed him.
