Civic Drives Honda to a 57% Growth in July

New Delhi, August 01, 2006: Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, has received an overwhelming response for its recently launched model - the Honda Civic, with over 4,000 bookings in less than a month of its launch.

HSCI has already sold 2,441 units of the Civic, replicating the model’s global success in India. Of this total figure, 475 units were dispatched to the dealers in June end to begin sales immediately after the launch on July 4.

Boosted by Civic sales, HSCI has registered a growth of 57% in July 2006 over July, 2005. The company sold a total of 5,936 cars in July this year (including 475 Civics in June, ’06) compared to 3,764 cars sold in July 2005.

The cumulative sales of the company during April – July 2006 also saw a significant jump of 20.69% as compared with the corresponding period in 2005. In volume terms, the company achieved cumulative sales of 17,713 units during the period as compared with 14,673 units sold during April – July 2005.
