Formula car, rally or endurance racing... Civic creates motor sports excitement on circuits around the world. Civic history is intertwined with motor sports. Though the Civic struggled during the initial phases of its entry into racing, it produced top-notch results in 1977, after only three years on the circuit. Since then, the Civic has won many championships. Thanks to the high-performance drivability of its four-wheel independent suspension system, etc., the first-generation Civic also played an active role in rallies and dirt-trial races around the world. |
| Outside Japan, the Civic proved its reliability by winning the 24-hour endurance race held at Nurburgring Circuit in Germany and also entered other races such as the Macau Grand Prix and the All Japan Touring Car Championship winning championships and accolades. |  |
