Honda F1 has achieved a run of 200 km/hr in approx. 5.2 seconds
whereas NSX runs only 100 km/hr.
How much will be the acceleration performance of Honda F1 machine [B.A.R Honda 007]?
There is 0-100 km/hr acceleration as a numerical value that shows the acceleration
performance of the car, and it often appears in the motor magazines etc. The numerical
value indicates how many seconds it takes to accelerate from stillness to 100 km/h.
On the basis of a study, the acceleration performance of most excellent car Honda
NSX is about 5.2 sec while the acceleration speed of Honda F1 is about 3.7 sec (in
terms of distance about 70 m). This difference is about of 1.5 sec and which is
not that big.
However, F1 achieves the distance of 100 km in those seconds while NSX completes
in 5.2 sec. Which means, in 5.2 seconds F1 can complete about 200 km. In short,
Honda F1 can achieve acceleration of 200 km in that 1.5 sec irrespective of 100
km/hr. So there is a big difference in terms of speed increase from acceleration
force.
F1 engine inhales 600 litres of air fuel mixture per second.
To achieve such fast inhaling function, the resistance or friction of the route
which inhales air has been decreased through lubrication.
Further, the most important is Valve Timing and amount of Lift Control Technology
(like at what timing, at what speed, at how much intake valve should open etc.).
Honda which is leading the world in petrol technology by "VTEC" - which is valve
timing & lift control technology, it is now aiming with F1 mass production car
by accumulation of long term and advanced analytical technology.
